Father, Bring Them Home

mei 29, 2026

It’s not that I have to write a blog every day, but I think a lot, and writing helps me get it out of my system.

As I was studying Isaiah today, my mind wandered off, and suddenly God said, “Write about what hurts your heart.” And honestly, I could write a never-ending list of things that hurt my heart. Children being abused, animals being abused, broken families, people feeling unworthy, depression, loneliness… you name it, I could list a million things.

And I wrestle with God about it a lot because I desperately want His Kingdom to come.

The Gospel is not Jesus taking us away to some place called heaven. No, it’s His will being done as it already is in heaven, but then on earth too. So often I sit with God and pray for wisdom, but what does wisdom even mean? It means to fear the Lord. And how do we get knowledge? By understanding who God is.

And honestly, that’s one of the most frustrating things for me.

When I first came to faith, I wanted to drown people in salvation. I cried over my loved ones because I was terrified they would go to hell. Some even got baptized because I was so persuasive, but unfortunately it didn’t take root, and they wandered off again. And it hurts my heart.

I want every single person on earth, even the worst of the worst, to go from a heart of stone to a heart of flesh. I want them to be soaked in a love they didn’t know existed.

Because I’ve seen the craziest changes, not only within myself but within others too, the moment the Holy Spirit entered, their life changes that no human being can bring about by themselves.

Self-development is one of the biggest lies there is, and it sells incredibly well. Staying in that loophole of never-ending works, constantly believing you are contributing to something, constantly talking about trauma, healing, growth, doing the work, becoming better, becoming your highest self… and yet the fact that all of us feel this deep desire to participate in something that not only benefits us but also the people and the world around us proves something.

It proves that every single one of us was created to collaborate with something higher than ourselves, something divine…We were made for it, for a purpose.

And that’s exactly why it hurts my heart so much. It hurts my heart to see people living separated from the One who is desperately waiting for them to come home. Not because He needs anything from them, but because He loves them more than they can possibly imagine.

And every time I truly think about that, it makes me cry.

If I could pray over you right now, it wouldn’t be a complicated prayer, it would simply be: Father, bring them home.

Love always,

Charlotte
